is a very gifted photographer who fortunately
also has the skill to share his knowledge in an
easy going, easy to understand manner. Jerry is
able to teach in a way that is valuable to both
beginners and those who have been at it for
awhile. I liked the class format of evening
lecture followed by practical application the
next day. Most importantly I saw a difference
in my "before Jerry" photos and my "after Jerry
photos!" -Jean J.
“Jerry has the heart of a teacher. He’s
knowledgeable, patient, and fun to work with. I
had a lot of fun and advanced my photography
skills.” -Brian G.
“To say my that photos changed in only one
workshop might seem unbelievable; however,
Jerry suggesting I change my settings in my
camera has made a world of difference. And now
I see “light direction” everywhere, where I
just saw brightness before. The photos at
sunset are the best I have ever taken. Thanks
“I was a little nervous going into the class as
I’m not much of a “group” person, but that
ended fast. The class session the night before
was a great ice breaker and very motivating.
The sites for the field trip were two of
Oregon’s hidden jewels. Add to that Jerry’s
teaching style - relaxed, encouraging,
enthusiastic - and the whole group was having a
great time before we knew it. When I viewed my
photos I was shocked to see as much improvement
as there was. Jerry put on a wonderful class
and I learned a lot!” --Kurt P.
“I had a great time at Carpe Lumen Photo
Workshops! Jerry is a good teacher, very
knowledgeable without being condescending or
aloof. I learned a lot about my camera and
learning to see the light” --Heather O.
“Jerry, I appreciate the work you put into
making sure everyone got something out of the
workshop. I definitely learned from it and and
will draw from that knowledge as I continue to
learn this art. The small, personal group was
very conducive to learning and sharing
information. All in all a very enjoyable
experience.” --Rick L.
"Great workshop! I learned a lot. Thanks for
all the help, information and attention to what
I needed." --Bob B.
